BA is particularly effective in enhancing anaerobic performance by increasing muscle carnosine levels, which enhances intracellular buffering capacity and delays the onset of muscular fatigue during high-intensity efforts. Research has shown that BA supplementation is most beneficial in activities lasting between 1 and 4 min, where acidosis is a limiting factor, and can significantly improve athletes’ anaerobic power and performance metrics.
